Nestled in a corner lot, kin khao is a cute little eatery that the smell alone draws you in. We had a last minute reservation and were even seated early on a Wednesday night. Our waitress was very friendly, and gave us a menu presentation. We ordered some drinks - a riff on a jungle bird and a pina colada. Both were fabulous and arrived within 10 minutes of ordering. We were told to order family style, but of course I'm a vegan and my partner an omnivore, so we each ordered two items. The portions are best for 3-4 people in my opinion, and we had some leftovers to take away. The mushroom pot was by far my favorite dish...like in a very long time. It was so thoughtfully crafted, complex, and we literally scraped to dish clean. The maitaike cracklings were also amazing, and we devoured those too. For the entrees, my fiancé got the laab, which is the spiciest dish on the menu. I warned him, the waitress warned him, but he still confidently dug in. The flavor was incredible, but it was too spicy for him to eat (no fault at the restaurant) every table around us ordered it as well, and most completely finished! My dish was the khao yum, and it was light, fresh, and downright delicious. I'm looking forward to finishing it today for lunch as a cold salad. Lastly, we ordered the black sesame rice pudding, and that was also devoured. Overall the food was a 10/10! The service was a bit tricky, only two waitresses, and we had to continually wait for water refills, we never ordered another round of drinks and would have, and we had to wait quite awhile for boxes and the check. Service was a 6/10 for me. I would definitely come back! All of the staff including the manager, food runner/expo, and the host were friendly as well.

Kin Khao is a spot that I've been wanting to visit for so long, and it is so deserving of its Michelin star. My friend and I came on a Monday evening for dinner, and though it wasn't crowded, there was definitely still a decent amount of people. We ordered a bunch of their smaller stuff. Probably wayyy too much food for the two of us but I'm also very grateful we could try so many things. We got the Pretty Hot Wings, the Namprik Long Rua, the Plah Pla Muek, Khao Kan Jin, Saeng Wa, and the Pad Kee Mao. The standouts for me were: 1. Plah Pla Muek - This had so much great flavor and love the sourness of this dish. 2. The Khao Kan Jin - our server recommended this one and I really liked it. The blood sausage adds a nice umami touch. 3. The Saeng Wa: Love all the textures in this dish and a great medley of flavors. The Pretty Hot Wings were also good but fairly spicy if you don't take off the Thai chilis, and the Namprik is a very traditional Thai dish that requires a little bit of assembling. The Pad Kee Mao was tasty but not the best I've ever had. The service was so great throughout our meal, and food came out fairly quickly :')

So delicious! Every dish we ordered was super flavorful and delicious. I loved the spiciness of the mushroom appetizer and the lamb lettuce wraps. The pork belly was super tender and sweet and savory, and the soft shell crab was lightly fried mixed with a super yummy slightly spicy, coconut-y curry. Absolutely flavor-packed! Our server was super thorough and made sure we were ordering what we would enjoyed, so really appreciated his extra effort there! Super nice ambience as well - nice vibes in the restaurant. Would definitely come back with a group of friends!
